Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in South Korea Look for Investment Oppotunities in Homeland

The Vietnam-Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA) led by Dr.T Hai Linh - Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of VKBIA, recently visited, worked with, and explore cooperation opportunities in the provinces of Ben Tre, Ninh Thuan, and Lam Dong.

During the meeting with the representative of Ben Tre province, the VKBIA delegation discussed the following issues: attracting foreign capital flows, promoting investment, supporting the development of infrastructure investment projects; proposing cooperation in such areas as developing high-quality human resources, recruiting workers for Korean enterprises; and exporting Ben Tre's main products to the South Korea market.

According to doctor Tran Hai Linh, VKBIA is willing to act as a bridge to connect and support the cooperation between Ben Tre and Korean localities, on the basis that some areas in Korea have many things in common with Ben Tre.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Ngoc Tam expressed his respect for VKBIA's interest in Ben Tre. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee mentioned the areas in which the province is in need of investment such as transport infrastructure, human resource training, and tourism.

Kim Seung Taik - General Director, CEO of FG Corporate Investment Fund, emphasized: "We are always ready to accompany VKBIA in investing in projects that bring value to the locality of Vietnam, especially the projects to develop important infrastructure, to utilize those projects and valuable connections and to achieve the highest efficiency".

In Ninh Thuan province, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee-Chairman of Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Tran Quoc Nam had a working session with VKBIA. Provincial leaders and the Department of Planning and Investment briefly introduced the province's potential and advantages in the field of renewable energy, seaports, tourism, specific agriculture, and projects that are currently being promoted in the province.

The VKBIA delegation discussed with the province about attracting foreign capital flows, promoting investment, supporting the development of infrastructure investment projects in the locality; supporting local cooperation with localities of Korea with similar characteristics to Ninh Thuan; helping the province in attracting and promoting investment with partners from Korea and other developed countries.

In addition, VKBIA can support the organization of Ninh Thuan's Investment Promotion Conference in South Korea; contributing to the development of local high-quality human resources. They can also help by recruiting Vietnamese workers for South Korean enterprises, and helping them to come to Korea depending on their purposes, namely for labor, study, and practice under provisions of the laws of the two countries.

Through the meeting, Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee and VKBIA agreed that each side will establish a Working Group to directly connect, inform, exchange and work with each other on the discussed contents.

On this occasion, VKBIA also signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement for the joint program of education and training and the development of highly qualified and skilled human resources with Bao Loc College of Technology and Economics (Lam Dong province).

At the signing ceremony, doctor Tran Hai Linh affirmed: “Bao Loc is a city with an important geographical position in Lam Dong province, the Central Highlands, and the South Central region.

In order to make the most of those potentials, the training and development of high-quality human resources, the development of a skilled team of international standards, and the ability to innovate, and apply techniques and technologies in the development of industrial economy, local high-tech agriculture is one of the important needs”.

Accordingly, the two sides will coordinate to develop a number of new vocational education programs, suitable to the needs of industries and fields of industrial technology and hi-tech agriculture in Vietnam and South Korea stepping closer toward an international standard training program, opening up more opportunities for students to transfer to colleges and universities in South Korea.

Pham Can, Rector of Bao Loc College of Technology and Economics, said: “This cooperation is also an important premise to help the school quickly achieve its goal of becoming a prestigious college in the area. This also contributes to promoting the knowledge economy, strengthening international cooperation, supporting human resource development for Bao Loc-Lam Dong in particular and human resources for the construction and development of Central Highlands and South Central clusters. Ministry in the process of global integration in general".

VKBIA also officially opened an office named "Vietnam-Korea Training Cooperation and Employment Support Program", located at Bao Loc College of Technology and Economics. This program will continue to be built and further developed in some other localities in Vietnam.
