Vietnamese Expats Recreate Tet Atmosphere in the Cold of New York

Despite the cold weather, the event drew the attention and participation of about 500 guests, including members of the Vietnamese community and American friends from New York and neighboring areas.
According to VNA reporters in New York, in the joyful and cozy atmosphere welcoming the New Year, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, reviewed the country's outstanding socio-economic achievements and the diplomatic milestones with contributions from the delegation in the Year of the Dragon 2024. Expressing deep gratitude to the Vietnamese community on the East Coast of the US for always looking towards the homeland and supporting Vietnamese representative agencies in New York, the Ambassador affirmed that they are an inseparable part of the Vietnamese people.

Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang emphasized that 2025 is a milestone of special significance for Vietnam. After 80 years of independence and 50 years of peace and unification, the country is confidently entering a new era, the "era of nation's rise," accelerating towards sustainable development, prosperity, an increasingly high international standing, and effective contribution to peace and progress in the world.
The Head of the Vietnamese Delegation reaffirmed the importance of the great national unity bloc, expressing hope that generations of Vietnamese people in the US, particularly in New York, will continue to contribute to the development of the homeland and constantly strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the US.
In addition to the joyful and cozy atmosphere, the highlight of "Community Tet - Homeland Spring of the Snake 2025" was the traditional Tet dishes and performances reflecting the cultural identity of the three regions of the country, performed by artists of Vietnamese origin, members of the Association of Vietnamese Youth and Students in New York, and the Association of Spouses of Vietnamese Representative Agencies in New York.
