Vietnamese students in Japan donate books to help children in remote regions

VYSA CHARITY BOOK is an event held for the first time by the Vietnam Youth and Student Association in Japan (VYSA) in 2020. The program has contributed a small part to the fund to build Vietnamese ancient language (Nôm) classes for children of Dao ethnic in Ta Phin, Sapa.

In 2021, with the hope of continuing to create opportunities to spread the reading culture, share knowledge among the Vietnamese community in Japan as well as support the children in Vietnam who live in difficulties, the program was officially restarted.

With the message "Each book carries thousands of love", the event opens to receive book donations from April 16 to December 31, 2021. All money gained from the sale of books will be donated to the Nang organization in Vietnam aiming at helping children in remote areas to have warm clothes in cold seasons, a safe playground, a better living and learning environment.

In addition to sharing love through donating and buying books, participants can also come to the "Offline yeu thuong" bookstore on Saturday at Gowell Town, Ginza, Tokyo to meet face to face with many people who share a passion for books and volunteering.

VYSA members shared: “The true value of giving does not lie in the size of the gift but in the heart of the giver. With each book you give away, love spreads. Please join us to give valuable knowledge to those around us and join hands to support the children in the uplands of Vietnam to have a fuller meal, warmer clothes, and better learning conditions".
