At the Historical Site, where the founding congress of the Vietnam Committee for the Protection of World Peace, now the Vietnam Peace Committee, was held in Roong Khoa Hamlet, Diem Mac Commune, Dinh Hoa District of former Thai Nguyen Province (now Dong La 2 Hamlet, Phu Dinh Commune, Thai Nguyen Province), the delegation reviewed the history and development of Vietnam’s peace movement and people-to-people diplomacy.

Speaking at the site, Vice President Dong Huy Cuong emphasized the significance of paying tribute to the roots, reminding each official and staff member of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) to gain a profound understanding of the Union’s history and traditions, thereby striving further in people-to-people diplomacy work.

On behalf of VUFO’s leadership, he expressed his sincere appreciation to the local Party Committee, authorities, and residents for their care, preservation efforts, and support in maintaining the historical site cleanly and respectfully.

He expressed his hope that the local authorities would continue to accompany and facilitate annual visits for generations of VUFO officials and staff to return to the roots, nurturing their ideals and traditional values. The visit, he said, serves as an opportunity to further promote President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology and the nation’s tradition of peace and compassion, thereby contributing practically to the cause of peace and development in Vietnam and around the world.

On this occasion, VUFO presented gifts to five families who had donated land for the construction of the historical site.

Phung Van Dang, Vice Chairman of Phu Dinh Commune People’s Committee, said that in recent years, the locality has received practical attention and support from VUFO.

VUFO delegations have presented gifts and provided facilities for local schools, and especially helped build houses for disadvantaged households, contributing to the elimination of temporary and dilapidated shelters and promoting local socio-economic development.

“Such affection and support are truly meaningful and profound. The people of Phu Dinh Commune are always delighted to welcome the delegation back,” Phung Van Dang emphasized. “It is a great source of encouragement for the locality to continue striving to build an increasingly prosperous and beautiful homeland.”
