100 Overseas Vietnamese Students in Laos Receive Vu A Dinh Scholarships

In Vientiane, the capital of Laos, the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the "For Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" Club, in coordination with the Embassy of Vietnam in Laos, awarded 100 scholarships (each worth 50 USD) to children of the Vietnamese community in Laos on March 6.

Attending the event were former Vice President of Vietnam Truong My Hoa, Chairwoman of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, and Head of the "For Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" Club; Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos, Nguyen Minh Tam; representatives of agencies; and the scholarship recipients, who are children of overseas Vietnamese.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam highly appreciated the meaningful programs and activities of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund since its establishment in 1999. He expressed gratitude to the fund for providing scholarships to disadvantaged overseas Vietnamese children in Laos who strive to excel academically. He emphasized that these scholarships serve as encouragement and motivation for the students to continue pursuing education and self-development.

Truong My Hoa praised the Vietnamese community in Laos for their unity, compassion, and adherence to local policies and laws while preserving their cultural identity, especially the Vietnamese language. She hoped that the scholarships would inspire students to cultivate virtues and talents, striving to become good citizens who contribute to the prosperity of both Laos and Vietnam.
