Northwestern Cambodia is home to a large Vietnamese-origin community. Many families earn their livelihoods through low-income occupations, small-scale trading, or casual labor, and continue to face considerable financial challenges.

The gift packages carried with them the care and goodwill of the Vietnamese community toward fellow Vietnamese living far from their homeland, while also helping to strengthen the bonds of solidarity and friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia.

Earlier, on June 5, 2026, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Battambang, in coordination with the Khmer-Vietnam Association of Battambang Province, distributed gifts to 46 disadvantaged Vietnamese-origin households in the locality, providing encouragement and support to help improve their living conditions.

In the coming period, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Battambang will continue to serve as a bridge between donors and the community by actively mobilizing philanthropists, benefactors, and additional social resources to implement more meaningful social welfare programs for Vietnamese people residing within its consular jurisdiction.
