At the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to France, Dinh Toan Thang, highlighted the respect and appreciation of the State and people of Vietnam for the contributions made by Prof. Archambault. These include his roles as Secretary General of the AAFV and Editor-in-Chief of Perspectives Magazine, his activities celebrating the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic relations, his support for Tran To Nga's lawsuit, and his efforts in writing articles that introduced and promoted Vietnam's land and people.
The Vietnamese Ambassador expressed heartfelt condolences to the leadership and members of the AAFV, as well as to the family of Prof. Archambault. The ambassador conveyed hope and belief that Prof. Archambault's sentiments and invaluable contributions to fostering the friendship and solidarity between the people of Vietnam and France will endure. These contributions will be cherished by generations of French friends of Vietnam and continue to inspire efforts to deepen this bond in the future.

The Vietnam- France Friendship Association, under the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, also sent a letter of condolence to Prof. Archambault's family and the AAFV.
Professor Jean Pierre Archambault, born in 1946, was a devoted French friend of Vietnam who stood by the country from the resistance war to the later period of national development. He became a member of the France-Vietnam Friendship Association (AAFV) in 1998, serving as its General Secretary from 2011 to 2021 and as Editor-in-Chief of its Perspective magazine from 2016 to 2021. After a brave battle against illness, Prof. Archambault passed away on February 23, 2025, at the age of 78. |
