That was the statement made by Furuta Motoo (77), President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association, at an appreciation ceremony held by the Vietnam Japan University (under Vietnam National University Hanoi) on March 24 in Hanoi. His final lecture as Rector marked the close of nearly a decade during which he directly built and led the university, and also offered an opportunity to reflect on more than 50 years of his connection with Vietnam.
