Seminar: Solutions for Rapid and Sustainable National Development over the Next 5-10 Years

In his opening remarks, Ha Hung Cuong, President of the Foundation, emphasized the urgent need to accurately identify new growth drivers as the country enters a stage of development marked by intertwined opportunities and challenges.
At the seminar, presentations focused on clarifying major orientations for national development. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Bo Linh (former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on Science, Technology and Environment) outlined a new vision for Vietnam’s development model in line with the spirit of the 14th National Party Congress, underscoring the need to shift the growth model toward sustainability, based on science and technology and innovation.

Dr. Vo Tri Thanh (former Deputy Director of the Central Institute for Economic Management) analyzed key and emerging drivers of the economy, identified opportunities and challenges, and proposed several policy recommendations to promote rapid and sustainable growth.
From a commentary perspective, experts also conducted in-depth analyses of the impact of the international environment and integration on Vietnam’s development process. Ngo Tien Long (Member of the Foundation’s Executive Committee) noted that the global context is changing rapidly, requiring Vietnam to enhance its adaptability and effectively capitalize on opportunities arising from international integration.
Regarding economic development, Dr. Le Quoc Phuong (former Deputy Director of the Industrial and Trade Information Center under the Ministry of Industry and Trade) pointed out the challenges in achieving double-digit growth targets, particularly those related to productivity, the quality of growth, and internal constraints of the economy.
Several participants also highlighted the role of the private sector, science and technology, and digital transformation as key pillars in the new development phase, contributing to growth promotion and the enhancement of national competitiveness.

Concluding the seminar, Ha Hung Cuong affirmed that the discussions had provided important inputs for policymaking, while stressing the need to continue renewing thinking, improving institutions, and effectively leveraging new growth drivers, thereby contributing to rapid and sustainable national development in the new era.
