The plan aims to strengthen leadership and direction while enhancing the responsibility of all levels and sectors, especially that of leaders, in implementing the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws on child protection and care.
At the same time, the City will continue to effectively implement policies, programs, and plans related to children; prioritize resource allocation; and promote the socialization of child protection and care activities, thereby contributing to the creation of a safe, healthy, and child-friendly living environment that supports children’s comprehensive development.
This year’s Action Month for Children will take place from June 1 to 30, featuring a wide range of communication, care, and child protection activities across the City.
According to the plan, sectors, authorities, and units will organize activities suited to their actual conditions, ensuring both safety and effectiveness.
Key activities include issuing guiding and instructional documents; organizing the launch ceremony for the 2026 Action Month for Children; promoting communication campaigns; strengthening state management related to children; organizing activities that promote children’s participation rights; visiting and presenting gifts to children in special circumstances or those at risk of falling into such circumstances; supporting child care and nurturing facilities; and organizing healthcare activities for children.
At the city level, units will coordinate communication and training activities to enhance child protection capacity; strengthen the responsibility of agencies, organizations, and individuals in coordinating the handling of child-related issues; and prevent and reduce the risks of child abuse, child labor, and accidents and injuries involving children.
In addition, the City will organize summer activities and provide care for children in special circumstances, as well as children from poor and near-poor households.
At the commune level, efforts will focus on promoting communication and public awareness campaigns on child protection and care, while enhancing the awareness, responsibility, and actions of agencies, organizations, and individuals in ensuring children’s rights.
At the same time, emphasis will be placed on organizing training activities, providing care, and presenting gifts to children in special circumstances.
Social organizations, associations, public and private social welfare facilities, and medical institutions are encouraged to strengthen communication efforts to raise awareness and responsibility among organizations, units, members, and affiliates in the care, education, and protection of children, in response to the Action Month for Children under the motto: “Each person takes one action for children.”
The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has assigned the Department of Health, the standing agency of the City’s Children’s Committee, to advise on the implementation of the plan and to coordinate with departments, agencies, the People’s Committees of communes, wards, and special zones, as well as relevant units, to effectively carry out the 2026 Action Month for Children.
