	Fukuoka Discusses Directions for Supporting Vietnamese Community in Japan

He noted that the initiative has become a powerful symbol of friendship and humanitarian spirit between Japan and Vietnam.

For more than two decades, Japanese medical specialists have come to regard Quang Nam as their second home. In addition to performing cleft lip and palate surgeries for children, they have worked closely with local healthcare professionals through training programs and technology transfer, helping to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of related conditions.

"Each summer, we not only welcome an international team of specialists providing professional support, but also close friends of Quang Nam," said MSc.Specialist Level II MD. Nguyen Minh Duc, Head of the Department of Odonto-Stomatology at Quang Nam General Hospital. "More than 20 years is a remarkably long journey, built on trust, compassion, and a shared commitment to bringing complete smiles to disadvantaged children."

In addition to personally performing free surgeries for patients, Professor Tadashi Yamamoto has actively mobilized donations of medical equipment from hospitals and colleagues in Japan for shipment to Vietnam. Since 2002, more than a dozen containers of medical equipment, valued at over VND 10 billion, have been donated to Vietnamese hospitals to support surgical operations and improve healthcare services.
