Functional forces maintain 24/7 monitoring to detect and alert vessels that lose signal or cross the permitted boundaries, while forwarding lists of violations to the Border Guard for handling. As of November 25, Nghe An had supervised 15,577 vessels accounting for 109,822 departures, and 15,148 vessels accounting for 109,626 arrivals.

Alongside monitoring efforts, coastal localities, such as Tan Mai Ward (Hoang Mai Town), regularly coordinate with the Quynh Phuong Border Guard Station and local organisations to conduct patrols and raise legal awareness among fishermen. The activities focus on enhancing compliance with IUU regulations, guiding the updating of fishing logs, using vessel monitoring systems, and adhering to commitments not to violate foreign waters.

From the beginning of 2024 to the present, authorities have fined 478 cases of IUU violations, totalling nearly VND 9.5 billion. To date, 100% of offshore vessel owners and captains in the province have signed commitments to refrain from illegal fishing activities.
