Through the seminar, the Organizing Committee wishes to provide more information channels to help Vietnamese health professionals refer to Italy's experience in combating the Covid-19 pandemic, including the experience of coordinating load reduction when the number of Covid-19 cases increases to have appropriate strategic advice for Vietnam, including the health sector in Ho Chi Minh city.
Head of the Italian expert delegation, Dr. Karen Kieu Nguyen said: "Since the beginning of the 2020 pandemic season, the Vietnamese Government has attached great importance to the opinions and experiences of overseas Vietnamese in the prevention and control of Covid-19. These are the enthusiasm of overseas Vietnamese towards their homeland, and also the sharing of practical experiences and in line with the trend of the world, not only Vietnam, especially in the context of the current complicated pandemic now."
According to doctor Karen Kieu Nguyen, Vietnam has been very effective in fighting the pandemic in 2020 and the Ministry of Health has made very timely adjustments.
However, with the number of new cases tending to increase, maintaining home isolation and treatment under the guidance of a family doctor over the phone and according to the treatment protocol of the Ministry of Health is a necessary solution, helping to avoid contact to reduce infection and overload hospitals.
According to the plan, Dr. Karen Kieu Nguyen and a team of 118 Italian doctors will also go directly to Ho Chi Minh city to participate in counseling, support and transfer the process of screening, treating and caring for Covid-19 patients.
