Promoting Vietnam’s Image to Danish and International Audiences

On April 17, the Embassy of Vietnam in Denmark hosted an event titled “Vietnam Today: Milestones in Development, Culture and People,” aimed at showcasing the country’s image, culture, and people to Danish and international friends, while also announcing a series of activities to mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Denmark in 2026.

According to the Embassy, attendees included the Chairwoman and members of the International Women’s Club in Copenhagen, as well as representatives from Danish agencies, organizations, academia, and the media. In her opening remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador to Denmark Nguyen Le Thanh said the event offered an opportunity to bring Vietnam closer to Danish and international audiences, not only in terms of geographical distance, but more importantly through greater mutual understanding and people-to-people connections. She affirmed that Vietnam is a dynamic, innovative nation experiencing rapid and sustainable development.

The Ambassador expressed hope that through cultural exchanges, educational cooperation, and multi-sector collaboration, the two countries would continue to strengthen their close friendship and further expand cooperation, particularly in innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable development.

At the event, writer Soren Davidsen, Vice Chairman of the Davidsen-K Group, who previously lived and worked in Vietnam for many years, shared perspectives from Danish friends on Vietnamese culture and people. He praised Vietnam’s spirit of independence and self-reliance, its foreign policy and international integration, as well as its remarkable development achievements. He highlighted defining qualities such as hospitality, dynamism, adaptability, and the strong aspiration for progress among the Vietnamese people. According to him, Vietnam–Denmark relations are increasingly developing toward a partnership of equality and trust, with shared interests and a common vision amid deepening international cooperation.

Participants at the event exchanged views and shared their impressions and experiences of Vietnam, expressing admiration for its natural beauty, rich cultural diversity, and the friendliness and hospitality of its people. Many also recalled memorable visits to Vietnam and voiced respect for the nation’s resilient history.

Guests highly appreciated the planned series of activities marking the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties, expressed interest in participating, and identified Vietnam as an appealing travel destination in the near future.
