Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic Promotes Digital Transformation and Youth Connection

On June 12, at the Asia Dragon Trade Centre in Cheb, Czechia, the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic held its 5th Annual Conference for the 2024-2029 term, during which delegates discussed solutions for digital transformation, preserving the Vietnamese language, and strengthening connections among young people within the community.

According to the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic, the conference introduced Phase 2 of the UVNS application, which includes sections on experts, jobs, documents and a digital document library to support management and information sharing within the community. The organisers also implemented a QR code-based attendance system through the application.

The conference discussed solutions for preserving cultural identity and strengthening connections among younger generations of Vietnamese living abroad. The Education Committee proposed initiatives to promote the Vietnamese language through experiential activities, compile Vietnamese-language textbooks suitable for children born and raised in the Czech Republic, and build schools for children in mountainous areas of Vietnam. The multimedia art project "Little Hanoi - The Next Generation", which reflects the lives and contributions of second- and third-generation Vietnamese in the Czech Republic, was also presented at the conference.

On this occasion, the Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Club announced plans to organise the "Meeting with Truong Sa" programme on 8 September 2026. Activities will include exhibitions of historical documents, cultural exchanges and meetings with witnesses.

Addressing the conference, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam called on the Union of Associations to continue improving the quality of its activities, pay greater attention to associations in remote areas, and help build the image of a civilised and united Vietnamese community that fully complies with the laws and regulations of the host country.

Also on this occasion, representatives of central agencies presented certificates of merit to a number of collectives in recognition of their outstanding contributions to community activities.
