In a short period of time, the appeal launched by the Union spread widely throughout the Vietnamese community across various localities in the Czech Republic. Numerous associations, businesses, and overseas Vietnamese individuals actively participated, demonstrating the spirit of national solidarity and the long-standing tradition of mutual support and compassion, turning their hearts toward the homeland in times of hardship.
Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam stated that the total amount raised by the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic has reached 5.4 billion VND, of which 1.5 billion VND from the first phase had already been transferred to Vietnam earlier. The remaining amount will soon be sent to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to assist people in storm-affected areas promptly.
The Ambassador said: “The community’s swift response and generous contributions to support people back home truly embody the Vietnamese tradition of mutual assistance and solidarity. This is not the first time; for many years, the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic has always taken the lead in charitable movements to help those affected by natural disasters in Vietnam. I believe that in the coming time, this noble tradition of compassion and unity will continue to be maintained and spread even more strongly within the Vietnamese community abroad, especially in the Czech Republic.”
The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic has consistently been one of the leading groups in charitable initiatives aimed at their homeland. Every act of sharing during difficult times not only expresses love for the homeland but also reflects a deep sense of responsibility and the continuation of the Vietnamese tradition of “the good leaves protect the worn-out ones."
