Various Vibrant Vietnamese Cultural Activities Held in Budapest, Hungary

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary, the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, in coordination with the District 3 authorities of Budapest, recently organized the “Vietnam Cultural Day” featuring a range of vibrant cultural activities. These included painting and photo exhibitions, documentary screenings, and showcases of Vietnam’s landscape, people, and achievements over 40 years of the Doi Moi (Renewal) process.

Strengthening Vietnam-Hungary Friendship

The event was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Bui Le Thai, District 3 Mayor Kiss Laszlo, cultural organizations, Vietnamese community associations in Budapest, and a large number of Hungarian citizens.

According to the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, during the opening remarks, Ambassador Bui Le Thai emphasized that in the context of the two countries celebrating 75 years of diplomatic ties, the Vietnam Cultural Day in District 3 not only honors the unique cultural identity of Vietnam but also enriches the cultural life of Budapest. It serves as a cultural bridge that helps strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Hungary.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the active collaboration of the District 3 authorities and affirmed that the Vietnamese community in Hungary will continue to play its role as a bridge of friendship, actively contributing to Hungary’s development and the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Hungary.

District 3 Mayor Kiss Laszlo highly appreciated the initiative to organize Vietnam Cultural Day and stated that the district government is willing to continue supporting the Embassy in holding cultural exchange events for the Vietnamese community. He noted that such efforts contribute to enriching the local cultural scene, enhancing people-to-people exchange, and deepening the friendly relations between the two nations.

He also suggested strengthening the sister-city relationship between District 3 and Son Tay Town (Vietnam), and committed to creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate more deeply and contribute positively to the development of District 3.

At the event, an exhibition of paintings, photos, and videos on Vietnam-Hungary relations helped the Hungarian public better understand the history of cooperation between the two countries, as well as Vietnam’s image as a dynamic, reforming, and globally integrated nation.

Agricultural product booths featuring cashews, pepper, coffee, tea, and traditional spices attracted significant interest from visitors, reflecting the growing popularity of Vietnamese goods in Hungary and the broader European market.

The culinary space and traditional art performances helped promote Vietnamese culture to local friends, thereby fostering people-to-people exchange and further strengthening the Vietnam-Hungary friendship.
