Vietnam Joins Annual Global Culture Festival in the RoK

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Seongnam City Vice Mayor An Gwang Lim emphasized the role of people-to-people exchanges and cultural cooperation in enhancing understanding and friendship between nations. This multicultural city always upholds the values of openness, integration, and harmonious development.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK, Counselor Nguyen Thi Thai Binh highly appreciated the Seongnam city government and the Organizing Committee for organizing the festival for the past 15 years as a festival for cultural exchange activity, connecting communities through music, food, traditional costumes, and unique cultural stories from various countries.
Nguyen Thi Thai Binh also noted that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the RoK is developing positively. People-to-people ties and cultural exchanges continuing to play an important bridging role between the two nations. Currently, the population of Vietnamese community in the RoK numbers has reached 350,000 people, practically contributing to the development of the RoK as well as bilateral cooperation.
According to the Organizing Committee, the 15th Global Cultural Festival was held to celebrate International Cultural Day (May 20th) and promote understanding of different cultures and traditions around the world. The event featured a parade of flags from 28 countries, a program showcasing traditional wedding customs from various nations, and an awards ceremony honoring outstanding contributions to multicultural diplomacy.
A total of 38 booths, including exhibition, experience, and food stalls were set up in City Hall Square. They showcased the culture and traditional wedding attire of five countries, namely the RoK, Vietnam, China, Cambodia, and the Philippines. Meanwhile, the food court offered a variety of signature dishes from these countries, such as Vietnamese bun cha, Japanese yakitori, Filipino lumpia, and Indian samosa.

The Vietnamese booth was organized by the Association of Vietnamese Brides and Students in Seongnam. It gained popularity and left a strong impression among attendees by showcasing Vietnamese culture, cuisine, traditional products, and artistic performances reflecting the national identity

The Seongnam Global Culture Festival is a prestigious annual event in the RoK, contributing to promoting cultural exchange, strengthening international community connections, and consolidating solidarity and friendship among nations. The active participation of the Vietnamese community in international events in the RoK continues to promote the image of Vietnam, its people, and its culture to the international community.
