Vietnam's Culture Showcased at Colorful Planet Festival in Czech Republic

The “Colorful Planet Festival 2021” was held in the city of Ústi nad Labem in the Ústecký province in the north of the Czech Republic.
Attending the were the Embassy of Vietnam in the Czech Republic, leaders of the Ethnic Minority Council of Ústecký province, leaders of Ústi nad Labem city, the Vietnamese Association in Ústecký province and representatives of ethnic communities from countries such as Vietnam, Ukraine and Russia living in the locality.
The annual event aims to create a playground for cultural and culinary exchanges, to strengthen the friendship and cohesion between ethnic communities living in the Czech Republic.
At the event, the Vietnamese community participants were all amateur actors with a passion for traditional art and culture. Therefore, individuals have spent months practicing and performing aspects of Vietnamese cultural identity.
Le Nam Thang, president of a club in Usti nad Labem city, said that although the members of the club were busy with business, they also managed to find time to prepare special performances for the festival. The members wished to exchange and promote Vietnamese culture with the ethnic minority community in the Czech Republic and the wider community.
“Everybody in the club is passionate about singing. We not only serve the Vietnamese community, but also exchange and promote Vietnamese culture with local people and ethnic communities in the Czech Republic," said Le Nam Thang.

Le Quyet Tien, vice president of the Vietnamese Association in Teplice, said: This is an annual activity for the ethnic minority community. Vietnam's performances were carefully created and received the attention of the audience and local people.
In addition, the Vietnamese community participated in a traditional food fair with many special items such as spring rolls, moon cakes, and coffee, with all proceeds donated to the Giac Vien pagoda for charitable activities.

Petr Nedvecdicky, mayor of Usti nad Labem city, said it was one of the largest multi-ethnic cultural exchange activities held annually in the locality to strengthen understanding and solidarity among all ethnic groups living in the Czech Republic and the province of Ústecký.
This is also an opportunity for each community to introduce its unique culture to other communities, thereby creating cohesion among ethnic minority communities, he said
