The event was held at the Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre Auditorium, The University of Western Australia, with the participation of representatives from government, academia, businesses, and the Vietnamese community in Australia.
Established in Western Australia, AVTN brings together students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, and community members, with the goal of fostering meaningful connections, supporting career development, and encouraging cross-border collaboration.

At the launch ceremony, Parwinder Kaur, Member of the Legislative Council of the Parliament of Western Australia, stated: “Spaces like AVTN allow people to connect, build confidence, and realize their potential. I hope to see more such networks established and developed. It is truly encouraging to witness such a cohesive and well-aligned community being built.”
Nguyen Thanh Ha, Consul General of Vietnam in Perth and the Northern Territory, shared: “The Vietnamese community in Western Australia is dynamic, well-integrated, and forward-looking. Many individuals have achieved success across various fields and are making valuable contributions to Australian society. AVTN has the potential to connect this talent pool, open up new opportunities, and strengthen linkages among individuals, organizations, and businesses in both countries. I believe AVTN will serve as an important bridge, not only connecting people but also ideas and opportunities, thereby promoting cooperation in education, trade, technology, and sustainable development.”
Hannah Huyen Vu, Founder and President of AVTN, noted that the network will nurture a new generation of globally minded Vietnamese young leaders - individuals who are confident, capable, and well-connected, ready to contribute to the future of both Australia and Vietnam. Through networking activities, capacity-building initiatives, and cross-sector collaboration, AVTN aims to build a strong community where each individual not only develops personally but also contributes to spreading shared values and strengthening the enduring relationship between the two nations.
Edmund Damouni, Honorary Consul of Morocco, remarked: “What impressed me most is the role of young people. I had the opportunity to speak with students and was truly moved by their stories. Many have left their homeland to come to Australia, both a courageous and challenging decision. More importantly, they are not here solely to study or work, but also to build relationships and create bridges between nations. In doing so, we are shaping future ‘ambassadors’ - individuals who carry with them values, experiences, and connections between Australia and Vietnam. Whether they stay here or return to Vietnam, they will continue to contribute to strengthening the relationship between the two countries.”

With a vision to become a leading network in Australia for Vietnamese students and young professionals, in 2026 AVTN will prioritize implementing career support and professional development programs, alongside maintaining key cultural activities that celebrate Vietnamese identity and community in Australia.
Through close collaboration with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (SCOV), AVTN also plays an active role in promoting people-to-people exchanges and strengthening cooperative relations between Vietnam and Australia.
Prior to its official launch, AVTN had actively participated in various community and cultural activities, including the national program “Homeland Spring 2025” in Perth and local initiatives such as Run for Vietnam in Western Australia. These efforts reflect AVTN’s commitment to enhancing connections between overseas Vietnamese communities and their homeland.
As part of its community initiatives, AVTN also introduced “Lovely Hearts,” a charitable activity that brings together contributions from AVTN and its guests to support children with heart conditions in Vietnam through the VinaCapital Foundation, while spreading the spirit of compassion within the community.
