	Homeland Spring 2026 in Toyama: Meaningful Cultural Exchange Space

Speaking at the event, Vietnam Ambassador to Indonesia Ta Van Thong reviewed the country’s notable milestones over the past year as well as important progress in Vietnam-Indonesia bilateral relations. He noted that the 14th National Party Congress was successfully held, setting out many strategic orientations and creating a foundation for the country to enter a new development phase aimed at civilization, prosperity, and happiness. Major policies on international integration, private economic development, science and technology, the state economy, and building Vietnamese culture and people have been issued and implemented.

The Ambassador also recalled the special milestone of 2025, when the two countries officially upgraded their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the state visit of Party General Secretary To Lam to Indonesia in March. This marked an important step forward, promoting a deeper cooperation framework between the two nations on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnam-Indonesia diplomatic relations (1955-2025).

Alongside strengthened political, security, and defense foundations, economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has continued to grow strongly. People-to-people exchanges have become increasingly vibrant, with rising numbers of tourists and family visits. Vietnamese destinations such as Sa Pa, Ha Long, Ha Noi, Ninh Binh, Da Lat, Da Nang, and Hoi An, as well as distinctive local cuisine and culture, have been highly appreciated by Indonesian visitors.

The year 2025 also recorded positive signals in air connectivity as Vietjet and Vietnam Airlines expanded their operations. In November 2025, Vietnam Airlines launched the Ha Noi-Jakarta route. In addition, the presence of VinFast electric taxis operating on many streets in Jakarta and surrounding areas is seen as evidence of the capacity and aspiration of Vietnamese enterprises to expand into international markets.

On this occasion, Ambassador Ta Van Thong presented certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding contributions to building and developing the Vietnamese community in Indonesia, thereby helping to strengthen friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia in 2025.

The Community Tet event took place in a warm and festive atmosphere with traditional art performances by officials and members of the Vietnamese community. Delegates and international guests raised glasses to celebrate the New Year and enjoyed traditional Tet dishes such as banh chung, steamed pork sausage, and fried spring rolls, contributing to promoting Vietnamese cultural identity in Indonesia.
