The trend of poly-working — juggling multiple jobs — is becoming more common among the young. A Deloitte survey shows that 46% of Gen Z and 37% of Gen Y take on at least one extra job besides their main work. On average, Vietnamese workers spend 47–56 hours a week on the job — around 9–11 hours a day. For Gen Z, it can even reach 12 hours per day.

Past 10 p.m., after dropping off a passenger at the Mien Dong bus station (Ho Chi Minh City), Trịnh Trường Giang, a 29-year-old from An Giang, opens a bottle of Number 1. The energy drink helps him recharge and stay alert enough to take on one or two more rides before calling it a day.
