Overseas Vietnamese promote OCOP products

Tran Thanh Nam, deputy minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that Vietnamese people around the world always look to their homeland, and have made practical contributions to the process of building and renewing the country. They are always an important bridge to bring information, knowledge, technology and investment capital back for the development of the country.

Deputy Minister Nam appreciated the support from overseas Vietnamese. Despite being far away from home, each Vietnamese has become an important bridge to introduce to the world Vietnam's agricultural products and bring foreign investment into the country.

Large commercial centers of overseas Vietnamese such as Incentra in Moscow, Dong Xuan in Berlin, and Sapa in the Czech Republic all show the Vietnamese desire to bring products to the world.

“We hope everyone will continue to act as a bridge for Vietnamese agricultural products to increase value in the global value chain. Overseas Vietnamese helps promote OCOP products. This is a product with potential, quality and bold cultural identity of rural areas of Vietnam.

They are also a channel for transmitting knowledge, technology and mobilizing financial resources. This makes Vietnam an agricultural powerhouse, applying advanced scientific achievements, and a processing and logistics center in the global agricultural value chain,” said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam.

Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Quang Hieu said that the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) appreciated practical activities of the overseas Vietnamese community in agriculture.

Although overseas Vietnamese's distribution facilities for Vietnamese products are still limited, they have covered many countries and territories, contributing to introduce Vietnamese products to international friends.

He said that some commercial centers and markets in Vietnam are large in scale and have a lot of room for cooperation. Many overseas Vietnamese have returned home to invest, trade and develop high-tech products in agriculture, contributing to increasing productivity and product quality.

They create more job for local workers; contribute to the conservation of precious agricultural products and the development of high yielding varieties.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Hieu spoke at the forum.

Therefore, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Hieu believes that, with the determination and efforts of domestic agencies, and the Vietnamese community at home and abroad, Vietnam's agriculture industry will achieve many successes.

Overseas Vietnamese show patriotism

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan said that overseas Vietnamese from all over the world have a thorough understanding of the culture, history, customs, needs, requirements and standards of the host countries.

We have to sell the products the world needs, not the products we have. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development would not be able to know what the world needs and how, without the support of the overseas Vietnamese communities around the world.

"Patriotism is simple. The fact that overseas Vietnamese people bring ideas from countries having modern agriculture to Vietnam, even a small initiative, shows patriotism," the Minister said.

“Through the media, we can meet and exchange regardless of the difference in time and distance. The message of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in 2022 is: Open thinking - Fast action - Real results. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will bring that message to the Vietnamese community around the world,” he said.
