According to Le Van Tuy, the Association currently has more than 60,000 members nationwide, approximately 90% of whom are former volunteer soldiers and former experts who had worked and served in Cambodia - individuals who share deep affection for the country and its people.

In 2025, the Association implemented a number of notable activities, including: organizing the Vietnam-Cambodia Student Exchange Program at Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hung Yen province) with the participation of over 300 students; hosting the Vietnam-Cambodia Business Forum 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City to foster connections and promote cooperation and investment; launching the “Nurturing friendship” program to sponsor 119 Cambodian students studying in Vietnam; along with various social welfare activities in border areas.

In the coming time, the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association and the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association will hold a joint conference. Le Van Tuy cordially invited the Ambassador to arrange a time to attend the event and wished her a successful tenure in Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Touch Sopharath expressed her appreciation for the Association’s sentiments, emphasizing that the Cambodian people always remember Vietnam’s assistance in the struggle to liberate the country from the genocidal regime. The Ambassador affirmed that the relationship between the two countries is a traditional, long-standing, and close-knit neighborly friendship, and expressed her desire to further strengthen coordination and connections with the Association, expand exchange and cooperation activities, and contribute to deepening people-to-people ties between the two countries.
