Vietnam Day in Finland Attracts 5000 Visitors

The Vietnamese Embassy in Finland (the Embassy), together with companionship and sponsorship partners, co-hosted the event. The partners are central and local government agencies such as Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere, Business Finland, along with many organizations and businesses. With the enthusiastic participation of many Vietnamese communities, the event attracted nearly 5000 attendees.

Vietnam Day 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the founding of Vietnam, as the country celebrates many important historical events of the country, namely the celebration of 50 years of national reunification, 135 years of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh.
With the theme "The Era of National Rise", the event presents the image of a Vietnam with a rich identity, gratified by a rich history, dynamism, innovation, integration, and aspiration to rise. The image of the Bronze Drum and the Lac Bird was chosen as the highlight for the 2025 theme – symbolizing the roots, enduring vitality and aspiration of the Vietnamese people to thrive in the new era.

Speaking at the opening session, Ambassador of Vietnam to Finland Pham Thi Thanh Binh emphasized the importance of the event in strengthening community solidarity, strengthening exchanges and cooperation between Vietnam and Finland. The Vietnamese diplomat affirmed that the country's great achievements in the past 80 years have created a solid foundation for Vietnam to confidently enter a "new era".
On this occasion, the Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Certificate of Merit from Ho Chi Minh City were awarded to outstanding organizations and individuals who have made positive contributions to community work in 2024.
The highlights of the event are Vietnam's unique cultural and artistic activities, namely dance performance, Vovinam martial arts performance, and traditional Ao Dai show. The Vietnamese culinary space, with famous typical dishes such as pho, bread, and the Vietnam – Finland Trade and Investment Exhibition and Promotion Zon,e also attracts many visitors. They introduced tourism, economic and investment products to potential partners, connecting cooperation opportunities between Vietnam and Finland.
The playground with traditional folk games is also popular, helping the promotion and preservation of culture to both the younger generation of the Vietnamese community abroad and international friends.
At the end of the opening session, there was Ao Dai parade. The participation of delegates and guests in the parade shows the charming image of the rich national cultural identity of Vietnam.
On the other hand, seminars on many topics, such as strengthening Vietnam-Finland cooperation, preserving and maintaining the Vietnamese language, or inspiring stories from Vietnamese experts and intellectuals in Finland on working skills in Finland, took place. They received positive responses and contributions from Finnish and Vietnamese experts and scholars, thanks to being informative and interesting.

Vietnam Day 2025 is not only a cultural and culinary festival, but also a bridge to tighten the friendship between Vietnam and Finland, spreading the image of a brave, creative, and potential-filled Vietnam, a country full of potential toward an era of peace, cooperation, and sustainable development.
