International Conference on Future of Asia is the leading prestigious annual international conference in Asia organized by Nikkei Inc. (Japan) since 1995. This is a policy exchange forum where leaders at high level of countries have frank and open discussions on emerging issues in Asia, opportunities, and challenges for development, security, peace and stability. From there, they shape policies, propose cooperation ideas, and solutions to enhance understanding, and promote cohesion to enhance Asia's position in the world, for development and prosperity.

The agenda of the Future of Asia Conference always attracts the attention and participation of senior leaders, politicians, scholars, and businesses from Asian countries as well as representatives of major economic groups in the world.

It is a forum for delegates to discuss regional issues, Asia's role and potential in the global picture, and solutions to enhance the region's status. The theme of this year's conference is "Leveraging Asia’s power to confront global challenges". This is a topical and urgent topic.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang’s upcoming trip to Japan for the 28th International Conference on Future of Asia and a working visit not only shows the importance of the event to Vietnam’s foreign policy but also extends the message that Vietnam wishes to contribute more to the future of Asia, affirmed Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu.

Hieu said that as a responsible member of Asia, Vietnam wishes to contribute more to the future of Asia, which is clearly shaping the global political system.

Hieu said that the Deputy PM’s speech at the conference will extend a message that Vietnam is a reliable partner, and an active and responsible member of the international community. The country is willing to join other countries to discuss and find ways to solve global and urgent challenges today, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world. This is also a manifestation of the Party's foreign policy, continuing to push up and improve the efficiency of the work of external relation and international integration, as well as multilateral diplomacy, he said.

This year's conference will have 6 speeches by high-ranking leaders of countries and 6 thematic discussion sessions. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang is expected to deliver a speech in the morning of the first day, sharing Vietnam's views on major Asian issues, experiences and solutions to the common challenges of Asia, efforts to control the Covid-19 pandemic and recover the economic.

Coming to this conference, Vietnam not only participated in assessing and commenting on the world and regional situation, analyzing urgent opportunities and challenges, but also worked with other countries to find solutions to common difficulties and challenges, strengthen trust to create a solid foundation for the future.

Vietnam started attending this annual event at its 15th edition in 2009 and has since continuously sent high-level delegations to it. The participation of the Vietnamese delegation at the conferences in recent years has been highly appreciated by the organizing committee, other participants, as well as Japan.
