This was the fifth annual tournament, co-organized by the Vietnam–Japan International Exchange Organization (FAVIJA) and the Association of Vietnamese in Fukuoka (AVF), under the patronage of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, Japan.
A total of 12 amateur teams composed of Vietnamese students, workers, and residents living in the Kyushu region and southwestern Japan participated in the competition. The tournament was divided into four groups, each consisting of three teams playing in a round-robin format simultaneously across four pitches.
Attending the opening ceremony and cheering for the teams, Trinh Thi Mai Phuong, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, emphasized the importance of community sports activities. She noted that the Party and State consistently regard mass sports as a key component of the strategy for comprehensive human development in Vietnam.

Trinh Thi Mai Phuong commended the efforts of the organizing committee in creating a meaningful platform that fosters community cohesion and contributes to building an image of a united, strong, and culturally rich Vietnamese community in the Kyushu region.
After a day of competition, FC Ha Tinh emerged as the champion; FC Miyakonojo secured second place, while FC New House finished third.
The organizing committee also presented individual awards: Ngo Duc Hoang was named Best Player, while Nguyen Van Chien, both from FC Ha Tinh, received the Best Goalkeeper award. The Top Scorer title went to Nguyen Ngo Tien of FC Miyakonojo.
Do Quang Ba, Chairman of FAVIJA, stated that the top four teams would qualify for the 2026 National Vietnamese Football Championship in Japan, scheduled to take place in mid-November in Tokyo.
He added that through the tournament, the organizing committee also promoted awareness of Vietnam’s sovereignty over its seas and islands and launched a contest on learning about Truong Sa, aiming to inspire national pride among overseas Vietnamese.
At the event, the “Greening Truong Sa” fund received enthusiastic support from players and spectators, raising a total of 34,000 yen. This meaningful contribution will be sent as encouragement to soldiers stationed on the country’s frontline islands.
