Food events not only connect the culinary culture in particular but will also bridge the cultures of countries in general, promoting mutual understanding and further cementing the friendship.

A club of Vietnamese in Berlin recently held an event to introduce the country's traditional dishes such as nem (spring roll), pho (noodle), xoi gac (red sticky rice), bun cha (grilled meat with rice noodle), and banh cuon (steamed rice pancakes), to international friends.

Vice President of the club named “Van nghe thang Muoi” (October art) said that through the event, the club aims to promote Vietnamese culture in Germany, along with its efforts in popularizing Vietnamese arts in the European country.

Nguyen Minh Hanh, spouse of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany, highlighted the meaning of the event to the Vietnamese community in Germany.

Culinary culture is a pride of Vietnam all over the world. In Germany and Berlin in particular, traditional food of Vietnam has been popular and present in many districts across the capital city of Germany, she said.

Hanh added that the event is not only an important cultural diplomacy activity, but a chance to strengthen mutual friendship and exchange between Vietnamese people and foreign friends in Germany and the world in general.

A charity event for children from orphanages and children with disabilities was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus in collaboration with the Minsk Youth Theater on the occasion of the International Day Children with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the participation of the diplomatic mission in Belarus.

Within the framework of this event, the foreign embassies, including Vietnam, have introduce their traditional dishes to more than 300 children have special difficult circumstances as well as invited guests.

The Vietnamese embassy's stall and dishes like fried spring rolls and banh phong tom (glutinous rice chupatty mixed with powdered shrimp) was especially loved by Belarusian children.

Meanwhile, a cultural cooperation activity named "World Culinary Festival - Connecting Vietnam-Brazil", had been organized at Mezanino restaurant on the Brasilia TV Tower in Brazil, to introduce and promote Vietnamese cuisine at 14 big restaurants in the country.

The event was hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil and the Union of Hotels, Restaurants and Bars (SINDHOBAR), and sponsored by Brasilia Bank, the National Vocational Training Service Center (SENAC), and BAT Brazil tobacco production company.

With the support of the embassy, Rogério Lisboa, culinary expert of the Union of Hotels, Restaurants and Bars - SINDHOBAR also had organized a class to teach a number of chefs of restaurants and hotels how to prepare making chicken Pho.

At the training session, Le Thi Van Hanh, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil also introduced more about this traditional dish, which is a sophisticated but delicious dish thanks to the perfect combination of all ingredients.

She also shared her experience so that the dish can both retain the typical Vietnamese flavor yet still suit the Brazilian people's taste so that the restaurants can put this dish into their menus for local diners.

The chefs were able to practice and enjoy a bowl of Pho with their own hands, with the determination to put Chicken Pho on the menus of restaurants in the capital Brasilia.
