The program served as a cultural gathering point for the Vietnamese community in Kyushu, Okinawa, and central and southern Japan, while also drawing the attention of local authorities, friendship associations, and international friends.
In her opening remarks, Vu Chi Mai, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, underscored the special significance of Homeland Spring 2026 as Vietnam celebrates the successful conclusion of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, ushering in a new era of development - an era of strong national advancement.
Homeland Spring is not merely a cultural festival; it is a place where human bonds converge and Vietnamese identity is spread, told through music, cuisine, traditional attire, and heartfelt sharing.
Representing the Fukuoka Prefectural Government, Tetsuko Ueda, Vice Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture, extended New Year greetings to the Vietnamese community, highly appreciated the role of Homeland Spring in strengthening people-to-people exchanges and promoting mutual cultural understanding between Vietnam and Japan, and acknowledged the notable contributions of Consul General Vu Chi Mai over the past three-year term.

Within the festival grounds, brilliantly decorated with red calligraphy scrolls, the golden hues of apricot and peach blossoms, the purple tones of ao dai, and the lively sound of lion drums, around 30 booths featuring traditional cuisine, cultural displays, folk games, and traditional Tet experiences created a “miniature Vietnam” in the heart of modern Fukuoka. Children lined up to receive lucky money, adults requested calligraphy for the New Year, and international students together with long-established Vietnamese families gathered around trays of banh chung and fried spring rolls. Japanese visitors also eagerly experienced Vietnamese Tet, enjoying traditional dishes and learning about springtime customs.
In addition to the traditional booths, the Organizing Committee arranged folk games, youth exchange and networking activities, cultural experience spaces, and notably the Kyushu Got Talent stage. Each competing performance told a story of love for the homeland, aspirations for integration, and pride in Vietnamese identity abroad.

Within the framework of the program, the Kyushu Got Talent 2026 Vietnamese talent search competition left strong impressions, as contestants, despite their young age, demonstrated mature and profound choices in their performances. The entries focused on songs praising the homeland and the country, the Communist Party of Vietnam, and revolutionary ideals, expressing national pride, gratitude, and the younger generation’s confidence in the Party’s leadership.
With an emotionally rich performance, First Prize was awarded to contestant Ta Van Dai for the song “The Fatherland calls my name.” The Special Prize went to contestant Phan Linh Chi for her deeply moving rendition of “The girl of the La River,” which left a strong impression on the audience.
