The “Denmark in My Eyes 2025” contest is part of a series of activities leading up to the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Denmark. This contest aims to spark creativity and, through that, raise awareness about actions to protect a greener living environment.

At the opening ceremony, Vibeke Norgaard, Education Counsellor of the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, stated: “The message we want to spread through this contest is that everyone can contribute to building a more sustainable future - starting today, starting from your home, and starting with yourself.

“You are the heart of this contest. You have the creativity, imagination, and vision to show us what ‘Green Living’ means to you (...) Tell your story. Share your hopes. Your ideas matter and can inspire us on how to build a better world,” emphasized the Education Counsellor of the Danish Embassy in Vietnam.

“Green Living” is not just about big initiatives, but begins with small choices and mindful habits in daily life: turning off the lights when not in use, bringing a fabric bag when going shopping, walking or cycling short distances, or planting more trees. These small changes, when done collectively, can create meaningful and lasting environmental impact.

Through this year’s theme, the “Denmark in Your Eyes” drawing contest encourages students to reflect on ways to promote positive change for the future of our planet. It also serves as a platform for children to express their ideas, aspirations, and commitment to environmental responsibility.

Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolai Prytz shared that although the green ideas expressed by Vietnamese children through their drawings may not bring immediate change, they are certainly a way for children to voice their thoughts and concerns. “This contest is not just about drawing; it is also an opportunity for you to imagine a better world and affirm that such a world can become reality. I look forward to seeing artworks from students across the country and sharing with you your own stories about the journey of green living and protecting the planet,” emphasized Ambassador Nicolai Prytz.
